New Radio Communications System Goes Live

New Radio Communications System Goes Live
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday, April 9th, to celebrate the new digital emergency services communications system in Brunswick County.

Brunswick County is extremely proud to announce the go-live of a brand new Motorola P25 Compliant UHF Digital 3 Channel Simulcast Communications System, based on a 5 Tower microwave linked network. The towers are all public service grade, the equipment is all located in weatherproof concrete structures, all sites have independent automatic standby generators, and the whole system is equipped with a monitoring system that warns us of any failures. This robust system represents a long term commitment to the safety of all responders, citizens, and the communities they reside in.

From now on, whether its an officer involved in a pursuit, a fire officer calling for additional support, or an ambulance trying to find an address while responding for a call for help, clear, reliable and consistent communication with their communication officer partners at 911 dispatch is just a push of a button away.
