Flowers on Main Ribbon Cutting

LAWRENCEVILLE – The Brunswick Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting for Flowers on Main at 319 North Main Street on Friday, Nov. 6, 2020. A grand opening followed providing the perfect opportunity to shop for fall and Christmas. Shawn Lucy and Chase Fletcher, owners, are pleased with the community’s support for the new business and are glad to be located in the downtown area. Mayor Scott Martin said speaking at ribbon cutting ceremonies is a fun part of his responsibility as Mayor.

“It’s always a great day when you have a new business open in town. Chase and Flowers on MainShawn have worked hard to do something they have never done before. The distance between your dreams and reality is called action. They took the leap and we all need to support them. Tell a friend and shop local. Support them and other local merchants,” Martin said.

Martin thanked Mike Dotti, Business Director, Brunswick County Industrial Development Authority, for the role he played to make the ribbon cutting and grand opening possible.

“His support and efforts are greatly appreciated. A quote I like is ‘Some people dream of success while other people get up every morning and make it happen.’ I want to say how proud I am of Shawn and Chase. On behalf of myself, the Town Manager, and the Town of Lawrenceville I wish you many years of success. Anything we can do just let us know,” Martin said.

Dotti thanked Shawn and Chase for investing in the Town of Lawrenceville.
“Shawn and Chase have worked really hard to make this happen. They are helping to bring back Lawrenceville. I also want to thank my board for their support. Take time to browse inside and get something for dinner. Pop’s, Pino’s, the Clubhouse Grill and China King are all open,” Dotti said.
Dotti expressed appreciation to the IDA staff for their help, Melissa Boucher, Finance Manager, and Stacy Taylor, Administrative Assistant.

Alfreda Jarrett Reynolds, Director of Economic Development, thanked Shawn and Chase for taking the leap of faith to open a new business. She also encouraged people to shop local and tell people about Flowers on Main and other businesses in the Town of Lawrenceville and Brunswick County.
Shawn expressed appreciation to the community and IDA.

“Chase and I are so grateful for all of the help we have received. I want to say how thankful we are to the IDA. They have been with us every step of the way. We really appreciate everyone’s support,” Shawn said.
